The new Toyota Supra GT4 concept revealed at the Geneva Motor Show. Toyota released a media package consisting of a video and image collage. The new Supra GT4 concept is a beautifully designed racer, with an aerodynamic package and livery concept similar to the racer brought to Geneva last year. This fifth-generation Supra is the customer motorsports version geared towards privateers in endurance racing.
This year, the Supra GT4 will be at the Nurburgring 24 Hours race, in addition to the 2020 Super GT Series GT500 class car. The GT4 will attend several other events, including the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, the Asian Series Blancpain GT World Challenge, and Super Endurance Series.
The 3.0-liter straight-six turbo engine comes from the production car, but several options will be tested on the Nurburgring Nordschleife track. The Japanese manufacture says this Motorsport-based design is a “racing study model” to “explore the possibility of using the GR Supra in customer motorsports such as privateer Racing.” The Concept is not race ready, however, Toyota suggested it would be “an ideal vehicle to serve as the base for customer motorsports.”
Toyota will use the reaction from the Geneva Motor Show to make decisions going forward. The Japanese automaker has released limited details, consequently, the world will have to wait and see what the future presents for the line.
