For those of you watching the LA Auto Show this week, make sure to check out what Fiat is bringing to the table. Fiat brought the redesigned 2019 500X AWD subcompact crossover. Not only is it standard with AWD, but also has the 1.3-liter, direct injected turbocharged engine delivering 177 horsepower and a best-in-class 210 pound-per-feet of torque. The new 4 cylinder has the stop-start technology (ESS) and the third generation of FCA’s MultiAir valve-actuation technology, which controls intake-timing and opening to recycle exhaust gas to offer improved power and fuel efficiency.
This 2019 500X AWD will have the 9-speed automatic transmission. It will offer three driving modes: a baseline Auto, performance Sport, and Traction +, which will maximize the low-spreed traction. At first glance, it appears to look the same but they have given it some sharper lines, added new LED head and taillights, and redesigned the front and rear fascia. There are three wheel options: 17-inch silver aluminum for the Trekking model, 17-inch matte black machined wheels for the Trekking Plus, and 18-inch matte anthracite machined aluminum for Trekking and Trekking Plus (Pop is the entry trim). There are also three new exterior colors: Italia blue, green and ivory.
Inside the Fiat, the cockpit was refreshed with new seat fabrics, a redesigned instrument cluster and steering wheel with mounted radio controls. It will come with standard Uconnect 4 with a 7-inch touchscreen radio with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto plus Bluetooth features. Safety package options have been added including blind-spot monitoring, rear cross path detection and a rear backup camera with dynamic grid lines. Adaptive cruise control is offered as an option.
The 2019 Fiat 500X will start with an MSRP of $25,785 including destination.
