The 2020 Toyota 4Runner Venture Edition has arrived. With the convenience of having a truck plant based in San Antonio, Toyota introduced this 4Runner at the Texas State Fair. The Venture Edition is basically a TRD Off-Road Premium with an aesthetic makeover. Toyota says this edition has “more utility and style,” which consists of adding the Yakima Megawarrior roof rack, crossbars, and 4.3 feet long x 4 feet wide X 6.5 inches deep tray.
The main exterior changes include blacked-out logos, side mirrors, door handles and rear spoiler. Another upgrade includes 17-inch gunmetal TRD wheels. Looking at the interior, the Venture Edition gets Softex-trimmed power and heated front seats with “TRD” stitched into the headrests. It comes standard with all-weather floor mats and a rear cargo mat. Toyota will offer a sliding rear cargo deck for gear that won’t fit on the roof rack.
The Venture Edition is based on the TRD Premium, therefor it will have the same standard off-road mechanics like a part-time four-wheel drive, a two-speed transfer case, and a locking rear differential. Just like other 4Runners, the Venture Edition runs a 4.0L V6 engine that provides 270 horsepower. The engine is paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. It is definitely equipped to go off the grid and take on any adventure.
Toyota is adding several standard safety features to their lineup of 2020 4Runners, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Toyota 4Runner Venture Edition is currently available to order. Pricing starts at $45,405 with destination charges included. That’s a price increase of $1,815 over the TRD Premium.
