Here’s teaser shots of the first production Porsche Taycan (Mission E). The new teaser photos for the electric vehicle show a beautiful, curvy appearance disguised with stripes. Porsche has to keep some secrets, but the front end looks more complete than previous spy shots. The headlight design is completely exposed and has the same appearance as current quad-LED DRLs. The teaser photos show a more finalized version of the wheels, with nothing spectacular to report.
The Taycan will have Porsche’s 800-volt charging system, with a range of 250 miles on a single charge. The EV will have an option for a fast charger, allowing a 80 percent charge in fifteen minutes. The German automaker has over 20,000 deposits for the car, pushing Porsche to increase production to 40,000 units in the first year. The EV is set to be released this September, with pricing starting around $87,000.
Porsche previously described their brand, “All Porsche models have something in common: They have a soul. A certain feeling you get as a driver as soon as you get behind the wheel. Soon, the Porsche Taycan is coming. And although his heart is powered by a different force – electricity – the soul, once again, is the same.” The Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo will be released after the normal Taycan. CEO Oliver Blume said the release date is set for the end of 2020. The automaker committed to half its sales being hybrid or fully electric cars by 2025.
