Several vehicle models have ended up on the cutting block over the last year. The Chevrolet Sonic may be heading to the top of the list. In an article from Wall Street Journal report, it was stated that GM may cut sales of the Sonic in the U.S. market. Automakers have to make proper adjustments with the Crossovers ruling the market. The Sonic is the Chevrolet’s brand’s compact that is between the Spark and the Cruze. However, the Cruze may soon join the Sonic in the discontinued line.
A GM spokesperson carefully stated that, “We have not announced any plans to discontinue the Sonic in the U.S.” The sales of the Sonic have been soft, selling less than a quarter of the volume than five years ago. The car has also gone seven years without a major redesign. While there is not an official announcement, all signs are pointing to the Sonic heading towards the “dead cars” list.
