Who wants FCA to release a Dodge Charge widebody, we do! Mopar Insider confirmed from its sources that Dodge will unveil a 2020 Charger Widebody, in SRT Hellcat and R/T Scat Pack trims. With over two years of rumored widebody discussions, everyone is anxious to see what Dodge has created. There have been plenty of teasers on the Internet. In April 2017, an Instagramer snapped a picture of a Dodge Charger with Challenger widebody wheels. Later, a YouTuber named Sinister Life, posted a video of the same vehicle. Tim Kuniskis, the SRT CEO discussed how when testing the Challenger widebody everyone thought it was the Demon. Nobody really knows what’s going and everyone at FCA is tight lipped.
However, with the speculations being “something” (air quotes) validated, the Charger widebodies will have a future. They will get unique suspension tuning, and the same 305/35 ZR 20 Pirellis as the Challenger widebodies, but featuring 11 inches wide wheels with a five-spoke design pattern. Mopar Insider says the engines and outputs won’t change on the Charger widebody. Nobody will complain that the R/T Scat Pack rocks the 6.4-liter V8 485 horsepower engine, and the Hellcat will purr in the 6.2-liter V8 pumping out 707 horsepower.
The new front and rear fascia will set the 2020 Dodge Charger widebody apart from any similarities with other FCA performance cars. The Charge will have a new dual-snorkel hood grille and repositioned intakes with redesigned side sills. This summer will give a definite answer to the production status. A spokesperson from Dodge recently stated, “with it being a future product…we have nothing to add.” Secrets are not nice! Check back for updates on the 2020 Charger Widebody.
