Porsche just debuted the 2020 Cayenne Coupe and it has a sporty new look! The Coupe has the same technical features as the standard Cayenne, but Porsche redesigned the appearance. The automaker created a steep roof line creating an angular rear window. Porsche wanted the car to look “more dynamic, and positions it as the sportiest-looking model in the segment.” However, the Coupe gave up some of the utility in the vehicle with the slanted roof. They jumped on the bandwagon with the crossover design.
The base Cayenne Coupe is equipped with the same 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine with 335 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque, reaching 0-60 in 5.7 seconds. The Cayenne Turbo Coupe uses the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing 541 horsepower and 567 lb-ft, running 0-60 in 3.7 seconds. The Coupe gets the Sport Chrono package as a standard feature, in addition, the lightweight sports package is available as an upgrade. Additional optional features include Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and 20-inch wheels. The adaptive rear spoiler is standard on both Coupe models.
Porsche debuted a carbon fiber roof option exclusively for the Coupe. The new roof is a part of three separate lightweight sports package that include 22-inch GT design wheels, houndstooth (or Pepita), plus carbon fiber and Alcantara interior accents. A fixed panoramic glass roof with a shade is the standard option. Also, a Sport Exhaust is available for the Turbo. The seats have 8-way adjustable compability. The passengers sit 1.18 inches lower to accommodate more headroom. However, the Coupe lost over 5 cubic feet of cargo volume.
The Porsche Cayenne Coupe is more expensive than the traditional SUV. A base Cayenne starts at $66,950, however the Coupe starts at $76,550. Add on $1,250 to either for a delivery fee. The Turbo Coupe is priced at $131,350. The Coupe will be available at the dealerships starting this fall.
