Lamborghini just released the new Huracan EVO, the V10 super sports car incorporating next-generation vehicle dynamic control and aerodynamics. The goal is for Lamborghini to continuously stay the leader in advanced technology systems. Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini says, “The Huracan EVO is the very definition of evolution: it is a step ahead, redefining the segment parameters. It is remarkably easy to drive, while delivering the most responsive, sensory and agile driving experience, in every environment.”
The Huracan EVO is powered by a 5.2-liter naturally-aspirated Lamborghini V10 engine, producing a higher output that screams. The engine is paired with Titanium intake valves and a refined lightweight exhaust system. Output reaches 640 horsepower (470 kW) at 8,000 rpm with 600 Nm of torque delivered at 6,500 rpm. The Huracan EVO goes 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.9 seconds and 0-200 km/h (124 mph) in 9 seconds, reaching a top speed of 325 km/h (202 mph).
The Huracan EVO features new rear-wheel steering and a torque vectoring system working on all four wheels. This super car has the new Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata (LDVI): a Central Processing Unit that runs every aspect of the Huracan EVO’s reaction, fully integrating all the dynamic systems and set-up to proactively anticipate the driver’s next move. The Huracan EVO delivers perfect driving dynamics. LDVI will be coupled with the Lamborghini Dynamic Steering (LDS) providing higher responsiveness. This increases the agility and maximum stability during any driving parameters creating an unparalleled level of control. The systems will recognize the driver’s intention through steering wheel, brake and accelerator inputs, engaged gear and the driving modes selected via ANIMA controller: STRADA, SPORT or CORSA. The STRADA gives the Huracan EVO is for agility and capability for the cruising driver. The SPORT becomes intuitive and exciting. The CORSA is sharp and reactive for extreme driving environments.
The design of the Huracan EVO is one of aerodynamic superiority. The new front bumper gives the car a low profile, assuring efficiency via the front splitter with integrated wing. The enlarged air intakes feature the Ypsilon shape. The side profile features Lamborghini’s hexagon design references in the windows, wheels and around the new side air intakes. The back of the car is wide and open with twin outlets of a new exhaust system positioned high on the rear bumper. At the upper end of the tail an integrated, slotted spoiler provides enhanced air flow. The underbody is shaped to maximize aerodynamic efficiency designed to improve downforce.
A new 8.4 inch HMI capacitive touchscreen on the center console puts connectivity within the driver’s reach. Governing car functions include seats, climate and the status of the LDVI system in the infotainment area. Additional features are Apple CarPlay with smartphone integration. A multimedia system incorporates connected navigation and entertainment including XMSirius radio and video player. The intuitive interface uses voice commands and utilizes Siri.
The Huracan EVO comes in Arancio Xanto, an iconic new Lamborghini four-layer color. New 20” Aesir rims complemented by Pirelli P Zero tires. Interior features a dedicated new EVO trim in Alcantara and leather mix, with Arancio Dryope details matching the body tone. Lightweight materials such as Carbon Forged Composites and Skin are available upon request. Delivery will begin in spring 2019 at the suggested MSRP of $261,274.
