Jay Leno drives the SpeedKore carbon fiber 1970 Dodge Charger with Demon power. Between his TV and YouTube series “Jay Leno’s Garage,” Leno drives everything from concept cars to the classics. This specific vehicle was labeled one the best builds of the year at SEMA 2018, winning the Goodguys Gold Award. The high performance Charger was featured on Leno’s show, demonstrating the perfect balance of classic and modern. SpeedKore and Leno previously shot videos together for the 1967 Chevrolet Camaro, the 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R, and the 1970 Dodge Charger Tantrum.

SpeedKore’s Evolution Charger is an updated Tantrum build. Also, the “Evolution” is the most advanced 1970 Dodge Charger in the world with the carbon fiber body structure, including quarter panels, fenders to doors, trunk to hood. However, the Tantrum and Evolution are still uniquely different. The Charger Evolution recycles numerous parts from Dodge’s Challenger SRT Hellcat and the Challenger SRT Demon. The Evolution Charger is one of the only ways to drive a Demon engine with a manual transmission. The vehicle is powered by the 6.2L Supercharged Hemi V8, tuned by SpeedKore producing 966 horsepower. It’s complimented with a Tremec M6 6060 six-speed transmission from the Hellcat. It’s fitted with custom stainless steel SpeedKore exhaust headers. Other custom exterior features include Penske 7500 Series double adjustable coil over shocks, 14-point roll cage, 19×10 inch front and 20×12 inch rear HRE wheels, Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires, billet front grille and door handles.

On the interior, it’s fitted with SpeedKore carbon fiber door panels throughout, custom SpeedKoreTM fabricated dashboard, center console, steering column, pedal assembly, pedal covers and fuel cell. Gabe’s Custom Interiors did the upholstery in Cigar leather with Recaro seats. Leno says SpeedKore’s work is top-notch. The SpeedKore Evolution pricing starts at $400,000, based on client specifications.
