There are only a couple of supercar companies standing firmly on not entering the popular crossover or SUV category. McLaren was the first automaker to oppose the option of crossovers and SUVs. Bugatti is the second supercar manufacture to join the club. Bugatti President, Stephen Winkelmann, stated that the French supercar company will not be producing a SUV. He said, “There will be no SUV from Bugatti. An SUV would not do justice to the brand or its history.”
Other supercar automakers flow in and out of the crossover and SUV realm. The Lamborghini Urus is in production, while Ferrari has an SUV coming soon. With the Rolls-Royce Cullinan and Bentley Bentayga, several options are already available for luxury vehicle consumers.
With the 110th anniversary of Bugatti in 2019, the automaker promises a few surprises with “the presentation of further model,” leaves the crossover or SUV option hovering in the air. Bugatti is universally known for producing the next best version of itself each and every time. Consumers would be okay to leave it at that.
