BMW unveils the 2020 Limited Edition i3 RoadStyle and i8 Sophisto. The BMW i3 will be limited to 900 units worldwide, and the i8 to only 200 in both convertible and coupe form. Revealed over Labor Day Weekend, the limited special editions feature unique styling and special details both on the interior and exterior.
With only 900 units worldwide, the BMW i3 RoadStyle Editions feature a Fluid Black exterior with E-Copper colored kidney grille inlays, front bumper air damper surrounds, and side skirt accenting. To continue the theme, the i3 RoadStyle gets Jet Black 20-inch double-spoke lightweight allow wheels that are exclusive to this variation. The interior features Dalbergia Brown natural leather complimented with Dark Oak matte-finished wood trim and headrests with “Edition RoadStyle” stitched into them. Performance-wise it runs the same as the eDrive all-electric powertrain on the standard i3. This set up produces 181 horsepower and 100 lb-ft of torque supplied by a 42.2 kWh battery. It has a range of 153 miles, and does 0 to 60 in 6.8 seconds.
The even more exclusive i8 Ultimate Sophisto Edition is limited to only 200 units in both coupe and convertible form. This edition features a Sophisto Grey metallic exterior with rear inlay finished with a high-gloss black paint. The 20-inch spoke radial-spoke wheels have the E-Copper accents, plus the kidney grille inserts and side skirt accenting. The power matches the i8, plug-in Hybrid electric powertrain, with 369 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. It gets a 69 MPGe rating, and goes 0 to 60 in 4.4 seconds. It’s a bit quicker than the i3.
BMW has not announced pricing for either vehicles, but more information will come in the following months.
