The Bentley Flying Spur teases 3D diamond leather. The automaker is showcasing small but game changing details as we inch closer to the release of the third-generation Flying Spur. The first teaser gave a first look at the retracting Flying B hood ornament. This second teaser is what Bentley calls “an automotive world-first” with three-dimensional textured leather lining the cabin. The teaser shows a door panel with a diamond-quilted pattern without noticeable stitching.
This third-generation Flying Spur is from the MSB platform, shared with the new Continental GT and Porsche Panamera. Bentley’s goal is to create a design to give more separation between the two-door Continental and the four-door Flying Spur. For this vehicle, it is anticipated that Bentley will utilize the 6.0-liter W12 engine with 626 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque as the standard. However, a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with 542 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque might be available as a more economical option. Most likely, Bentley will introduce a 2.9-liter V6 plug-in hybrid option at some point.
There has been no official date released for the debut of the Flying Spur. Some options speculated include Pebble Beach in August, the Los Angeles Auto Show in November, or the Frankfurt Motor Show that falls in between the other two options.
