The 2020 Aston Martin Vantage Roadster was teased ahead of schedule on Twitter. Aston Martin is giving the go signals for the drop-top version of the Vantage. This variation is the smallest Aston Martin sports car to date. The 2020 Vantage Roadster comes painted in matte black, plus silver 20-inch, 10-spoke wheels previously seen on the coupe.
Aston Martin released only a few photos of the production prototype with “Opening Spring 2020” liveried on the sides of the hood. The automaker is offering just a sneak peak ahead of schedule. With limited information, we can only speculate on the final details of the new roadster. Most likely it will have the same AMG-sourced 4.0L V-8 engine as the standard Vantage coupe. This engine produces 503 horsepower and 505 lb-ft of torque. It is also expected to have the same eight-speed ZF automatic transmission and brakes. The new Vantage Roadster will probably have some improvements to the suspension to help with tuning the added weight of the soft top.
The 2020 Vantage Roadster will complete the convertible offerings on all Aston Martin vehicles, except the four-door Rapide. It will be very exciting to see what Aston Martin has in store for its second century of production.
