Acura is set to show off newest ‘Type S’ Concept during Monterey Car Week. After seeing the Type S driving around several times in camouflage, Acura gives the world a sneak peak. Here on the teaser video, there is a small distinction of body shape while still leaving plenty to the imagination.
Similar to the Acura Precision Concept, the Type S Concept will be a four-door luxury coupe. Acura says the purpose of the Type S Concept is to “set the design direction for the return of Type S variants to the Acura lineup in the years ahead.” The official viewing will be on August 15 at The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering the following day or Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Acura is giving the world plenty of opportunities to catch a look at their latest creation.
Looking closely at the teaser image, it appears by the taillight element that Acura added the quad exhaust system. The silhouette shows an aggressive diffuser and a prominent spoiler in the rear-end. Also, the Type S badge is displayed on the trunk lid.
Acura fans are very excited with the return of the Type S. The Japanese automaker has made several successful versions of the Type S throughout the years. Enthusiasts are hoping that the TLX and RDX will get the Type S badge. It will be interesting to see if any compact variations will get the Type S badging.
