There is no denying the beauty of the exotic open-top Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Volante. Under the hood, a 5.9-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine roars with 592 horsepower, and hits a top speed of 198 miles per hour. It can do 0-60 in 3.7 seconds, with the top up. In order to keep fresh air flowing into the powerful engine, air has to pass through the large opening of the front bumper, the grille. For the Vanquish Zagato Volante, Aston Martin is offering a single-piece forged aluminum grille. You have to buy something special for this exclusive vehicle.
The aluminum grille is an extra option over the standard black grille. It takes over 3,000 hours to machine and complete the grille, plus the matching decorative grilles around the taillights. Compare it to the Aston Martin One-77 that takes about 3,000 hours to handcraft the entire car. That is a crazy amount of time for one grille set.
Breaking it down, the British manufacture is only charging $13 per hour for shop time, or $39,000 for the project. However, this a way to make a statement in the already rare Aston Martin. With only 99 production units, the forged aluminum grille will add another ounce of exclusivity.
