The 2019 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek Edition hits the floors at the Chicago Auto Show this week, with a new appearance package for the SUV. The North American marketer for Nissan, said about the Rock Creek Edition, “The name was chosen to connect to Pathfinder’s family outdoor adventure-minded target customers.” From the photos released already, the automaker seems to be trying on something that may not fit. The Pathfinder needs something more substantial to help with its minimal sales in the U.S. market, being one of the under performers in the group.
Several automakers are attempting to hit the off-road market with redesigns and appearance packages, and Nissan is not exception. The package adds black paint and accents to the mesh grille, door handles, mirror caps, roof rails, and license plate finisher. The black accents are on the front and rear fascia, and around the wheel arches. The 18-inch wheels are darker and wrapped in 255/60 R 18 all-season tires, slightly wider than previous options. All the badging is black, and the “Rock Creek” lettering on the door is black. The most rugged features are the trailer hitch and splash guards to complete the look.
The Pathfinder Rock Creek Edition includes two-tone seating and high-contrast stitching, metallic interior trim, and Rock Creek embroidery and badging. The SV and SL trims are available in two-wheel and all-wheel drive, costing $995 to add the Rock Creek appearance package. With another $980 for the Rock Creek Edition Technology Package, adding the NissanConnect infotainment system, heated front seats, heated steering wheel and side mirrors. The SL Rock Creek Edition Premium Package is $2,110, including the dual panoramic moonroof, and 13-speaker Bose stereo.
The automaker announced the 2019 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek Edition will be available this spring. Check out all the pictures from the Chicago Auto Show.
