The next-gen Mercedes-AMG A45 is close to meeting the world. The Euro-only Mercedes is showing the power under its hood in the first officially released video. The hatchback is still dressed in a multi-colored disguise while hitting the pavement. The Drift mode is a main focus for the new version of Mercedes 4Matic, similar to previous model AMG GT 4-door. The mode seems to be a win, with tires screeching on the track.
AMG reported the car will have over 400 horsepower, pushing a great amount of power to the rear end to swing into the drifts. In the previous generations, the A45 had 375-hp, which is a great output for the 2.0-liter turbo. The redesigned turbo motor has some upgrades to increase the output. Some design changes include a quad oval-exit exhaust system. Another featured design on the A45 is the AMG Panamericana front grille. It will also have a unique chassis with option adjustable damping, offering an extreme mode for high-speed driving.
Sadly, the Mercedes hatchback is not expected to be sold in the U.S. The CLA 45 sedan will be the production model to be sold stateside. Mercedes is planning to debut a redesigned CLA at CES in Las Vegas.
