Even though the price has increased $3,000, buyers can still get a new redesigned 2019 Mazda3 with a base price of $21,895. The least expensive option is a front-wheel drive, automatic sedan. The base Mazda3 has a 186-horsepower 2.5-liter 4-cylinder standard engine. This is a upgrade from the 155-horsepower 2.0-liter engine, with a manual transmission, offered standard in previous models.
Going with the hatchback over the sedan on base trims, adds 18-inch wheels versus 16-inch, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic dual climate control, leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. The safety equipment includes automatic emergency braking, radar cruise control, automatic high-beams, blind-spot monitoring, automatic wipers and lane-departure warning with lane-keep assist. All Mazda3’s will have LED headlights and taillights plus keyless pushbutton start.
For the price tag, this Mazda3 includes extensive safety and convenience options. For all other trims, opting for the hatchback adds $1,000. Going with higher trim levels, features included are real leather, a sunroof, heads-up display, upgraded sound system and power heated seats.
Mazda is only offering a manual transmission in the Mazda3 hatchback Premium trim with front-wheel drive, starting at $28,395. The only option in the sedan or all-wheel-drive is the six-speed automatic transmission. The entry-level all-wheel-drive comes in the Base Select trim, starts at $24,895. The Mazda3 is affordable and well-equipped at any trim level.
