What can you build with over 300,000 legos? In Connecticut, at one of Lego’s model shops, builders constructed a 2019 Chevy Silverado LT Trail Boss in bright red. It took 2,000 hours and 18 people to assemble 334,544 pieces. It was unveiled at the Detroit auto show at Cobo Center on 1/19/19. The model is very accurate, with replicated decals, functional lights and weighing in at 3,307 pounds (lighter than the 5,008 pound metal truck). The model is 72 inches high, 240 inches long and 96 inches wide.

The Chevy Silverado will also make a cameo in the upcoming film, “The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part,” hitting screens February 8, 2019. Lego has created several life-size vehicles. These include the Ferrari F1 car, a Bugatti Chiron which is actually operations, and a Toyota Camry. The Camry was the most Lego intensive models using more than 500,000 pieces.
