2019 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison Tray Bed Concept. Chevrolet and AEV collaborated to build the Colorado ZR2 Bison. AEV released all the details on a new truck called the ZR2 Bison Tray Bed Concept. The AEV collaboration may be just a concept build, but is a completely capable offroad machine. This is the first collaboration between Chevrolet and AEV (American Expedition Vehicles).
To differentiate from a normal ZR2 is the AEV tray bed and fender flares. This concept was built to show at Overland Expo West in Flagstaff, AZ, but to work out any kinks they headed to the Altar Desert for a three-day adventure. The build also has several GM Performance Parts including an AEV front and rear bumper, leveling kit, upper control arms, tie-rod sleeves and a steel driveshaft. The ZR2 is running 35-inch tires on 17-inch aluminum wheels under new fender flares. The build is engineered to take some of the rake out of the ZR2 front end and also for more upper ball joint articulation.
There are no answers to the pressing questions of how much? Where can I get it? When will it be available? AEV said the truck will be returning to Michigan to have more GM Performance Parts added soon. The ZR2 Bison was built to gauge interest with the public and display the high-clearance fenders. AEV wanted fenders that allowed you to add larger mud- or all-terrain tires without needing a lift for clearance. For now, AEV has no timeline or cost associated with the production of the fenders or tray bed.
